AHHHH yesterday was the best day of my Spanish adventures yet. I woke up early and took a 20 minute train into Barcelona, then amazed myself by navigating through a connecting metro train without asking for directions! I met Alex and Dani at their hostel (which blew my mind, as I was expecting a shack with mats on the floor for sleeping). After checking into the room next door to Alex, I retrieved my HelloBCN Hostel fob which looked like a skinny wristwatch. Then, the three of us ventured into the mountains by foot (almost 3 miles uphill.. regrets) and saw the castle and a beautiful view of Barca. After stopping for a quick lunch of squash soup, paella, and sangria, we braced the rainy weather and headed on our tour of the city. Lots of pictures were taken, tons of candy was eaten (kit kats are so much better in europe, thanks to Nestle), and in total 15 miles were trekked (statistic thanks to Dani's pedometer). Some touristy pictures..

and we went a little crazy with the hipster shots..
After a quick break at the hostel to skype with Mike Rigg, David Lopez, and my sister Courteney, we made my nightlife itinerary and organized map a reality. Thanks to Katrina Escudero, we had a list of all of the best clubs, bars, and tapas restaurants to hit up. It was a fabulous night that ended in a barefoot walk in the ocean at 4 am.
night-on-the-town planner extraordinaire.
I can't believe I stayed in a Hostel. I can't believe I'm in Spain. I can't believe I'm having this crazy abroad experience.
Verdict: I LOVE BARCELONA.
